From the Transportation Department
Summer is here! The transportation department is in full swing updating and planning for the upcoming school year. In an effort to plan for the 2017-2018 school year, and be fiscally responsible with your tax dollars, the Transportation Department is requesting parents/guardians/foster parents and care givers to complete a Student Transportation Request form. Please have completed Student Transportation Request forms turned into the Administration Office by June 30, 2017. You can mail them to: 1001 Park Avenue, Fostoria, OH 44830 C/O Transportation or hand deliver them there between the hours of 8:00 am – 3:00 pm, Monday – Thursday. Requests for transportation from new addresses will be required to show proof of residency. Traonsportation eligibility is determined following Board policy. Children living beyond the following walking limits shall be entitled to bus transportation:
|A.||Preschool through Kindergarten 1.0 mile|
|B.||Grades 1 through 2 1.25 mile|
|C.||Grades 3 through 6 1.5 mile|
|D.||Grades 7 through 12 2.0 mile|

Please note that all current Alternate Transportation Requests expired on the last day of school of the 2016-2017 school year. If at some point during the school year your family/individual circumstances change, you can complete an address change at your child’s school or complete an Alternate Transportation Request form, and return it to your school office, they will forward it to the transportation office for review. No alternate requests will be accepted after August 4th until September 4th. Requests will be processed in the order in which they are received.
